All of ya!! Am putting an axle under a '55 chev I have a '52 pickup axle- 24'' spring centers seems narrow for the new frame horns ( 2x4 rec tube) also have '55 axle 36" spring centers - seems a little wide!!! Are you hanging springs parallel or narrower in front wider in back??? THANKS !!! Rascal 55

I'm sorry, I did basically what Bob did on the '55 build,cut the old frame at the steering box,etc. 2x4 rec tube It just looks to me like with the '52 axle the hangers would have to set in (towards center) more than what all the pictures show. My new frames/tubes are 30"apart 32" center to center. It just doesn't look to me like mine will fit like that!!! Front hangers closer together than rear hangers ?? Yeah, the springs from the '49-'54 Chevy trucks are narrower at the front then the rear. That is the way they are from the factory and we used them that way because we believe that that setup helps with handling. Sorry I can't measure anything for you as both of out Tri-Fives are gone.

I used a early 55 axle on my 56 the mount on my alxe are at 32"center to center I also used 49 ford springs and hangers set the new frame rails at 32" front to back slid right inside the old frame worked really well.
