Nice car. Good to see that you could keep it that long. What motor are you putting in it now that the big block is out?

The ZL1 was too valuable to use (the way I do). I have a aluminum Dart head 427 in it now. I have to post more recent pictures, as that was before I started working on it again this year..

This is the most current (and lousy) picture of the motor. I bought a tubing bender and made all the supports, but used the stock front frame. Just welded all the holes up. i think the Demon is going for a friends race-prepped Holley. I'll get some better pictures.

Afco custom made radiator that I modified the radiator support so it would sit flat and flush

Just as an aside, This is a picture I took of this car in 1974. It belonged to a local guy that had just got out of high school and worked at a local gas station. I saw him driving it and rode down there on my bicycle (you see in the background) to take pictures of it. At that point, it had a 425Hp 427, Muncie, and a 12 bolt. Five years later I found it stripped of it's drive train and bought it.

Wow, that's cool!! Love the fact that you've owned for that long and that it wasn't street rodded or pro streeted!

Much like having the car thirty years, it only took another year and four months to finally get it drivable..... So I'm updating. Drivetrain was all new with the exception of the shortblock. Rearend went south first (I didn't build it) so I put together another third member. This one is good (nodular Yukon housing, Daytona bearing support, Yokon Locker, Strange blue-box 4.11). M22 had close-ratio gears that I knew I wouldn't like so I found what's probably the LAST set of wide ratio Antonio Masiero gears out there. Clutch (borg & Beck three finger) wouldn't hold the motor, so I'm still screwing around with that but the car loved the 15 Lb aluminum flywheel. This is all in about 1K miles. Now it's all about tuning, and small additions untill the winter...
