Hi, I`m looking for a dropped axle kit for my 61 corvette.would like chrome drilled i beam,but does`nt have to be.Body is currently off the frame and i am ready to rock foward.Don`t seem to find what i`m looking for from speedway or Bell super axle.any Idea`s? .i do not want any cheap chinese junk.Thanks

Welcome! I don't have any source for that axle right off of the top of my head. Maybe you could post the width between the backing plates and then we might be able to help you figure out a place to start.

With the body being just over 70" wide, I'd go with a late 60's Chevy van straight axle. They are about 62" to the face of the drums, so with skinny front tires/wheels they will work great, and still be Chevy bolt pattern. If bolt pattern doesn't matter, then a 60's Econoline van axle also works well. Once it's all set up you can get a holesaw and punch some lightening holes, and have the axle chromed.
