1970 AND NEWER BODY GASSERS, WHAT DO U THINK?? You know, I'm really not a fan of putting a straight axle under something just to be different. I believe that gassers were mainly a 60's thing, done to 60's and older cars and that is really what I like. I really believe that if you can't open up the Gasser Wars book by Larry Davis (One of my Bibles) and see a picture of it in there then it shouldn't be built. For those that want to see how things were done, this is a great book to study. I don't really want to discourage anyone from building what they want or like, but the guys in Gasser's Inc. really try to stick as close to how things were in the early to mid 60's, and the Gasser Wars book really says it all for us. Newer styled cars with straight axles were more of a Street Machine, a craze that surfaced in the early 70's and had more of a 4x4 look with the car being rather high on all 4 corners and uncut wheelwells, fun craze, but not a gasser. Well you asked and that is what we think, what does everyone else have to say on the subject?

I'm afraid I have to agree. It's m ore of and era thing . Kinda like trying to find a bald head at WoodStock :- ) Then , again , imagine what the masses thought when the FIRST Gasser arrived on the scene. Everyone else looking for "new" front ends and some guy shows up with a straight axle . Try it and see , Brad .......be an inovator !! Elwood
