Just wanted to show some progress on my 57. The floors are done, the new doors are on, and I 'm working on the rockers and the quarters. At the moment I have the rear under the springs but I 'm thinking of moving it back to the original location to lower the back. What do you guys think? Attachments:

I'd put the springs under the rear and use air shocks if needed. Personally I always felt that the rear would take off and leave me if left outside of the car besides I think they look cool with a little arch in the spring showing especially on the " 57s"

I thought about doing the spring over deal and went with the stock location and air shocks. I like them a little lower in back myself. It will be cool no matter how you do it!

you know if you have it to high, you run the risk of it being called a "street freak" remember them?

Cool looking project. I also vote for a lower rear and the original placement, either way it will be a cool car!

Love the look...I have a 56 with spring over axle. Had it both ways but changed it to fit 30" tires under it.Alot of people bash it call it a 4 wheel drive and stuff, but they dont understand. I realize the true gassers had the nose high and ass down, but mines just for fun anyhow..

my wagon has the spring over the rear end, sits high but it clears the wide tires.
