I have a kind of stupid question. Im building a 56 chevy gasser puttin a 355ci with a tunnle ram in it and am going to letter it up like the old days. I was just wondering what the C/G and the other letters they put on the cars ment back then. Sorry if its a stupid question i just want to get the right lettering on my car. thank you for your time

The ?/G was the weight to cubic inches category that the gasser cars fit into. A/G had the lowest weight to cubic inches and was the quickest class. There were numerous differences throughout the gasser years in what class was what. Here's a link to Byron's Gasser Madness where it explains a little more in depth. gassermadness.com/Gas_Classes/index.htmHope this helps.
