Just purchased a '62 Nova ht and love the gasser style.I was wondering how to go about measuring/cutting the rear wheel wells. I figured a cut-off wheel but the radius part? Is there a pattern for this? I want to run 15x8 or 15x10 wheels. I have an extra pair of front fenders.I would like to cut the lip off the fronts and put them on the rear.I kinda like that finished look. Awesome site!!!

Congrats on your purchase. My 64 was done prior to me owning the car, and I know its been posted before, but I'm told that the rear wheel wells on mine are from a Pinto Wagon. I had chosen 28x12.5 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro tires for the car on 15x8 wheels and knew they werre going to stick out. I took an old worn out set of 29x15.5 Mickeys and put them on a set of 15x10 wheels, let the air out, put them on the car, and then aired them up (much harder to do this with stock wheel wells). I measured the largest gap and then cut to match that wherever the tires touched. You could always place the tire of your choice outside of the quarter at your desired height and trace around it with a marker. That's how my dad used to do it in the 70s.

There was an article in Rod and Custom. Bolt an axle puller to the rear end. Drill a hole in a yardstick and place it over the shaft of the puller. drill another hole in the stick at the desired distance and scribe away.

What I did, was remove the rear wheel, put the new wheel next to the wheelwell on the outside of the car and then jack the car up so it lines up with with the lugs. Then I took a sharpie and used the tire itself as a round straight edge and traced the tire size. Then I just measured out from there with a ruler the amount of space I needed for clearance and cut it open.
